Kind friends and readers, I NEED YOUR HELP!

Last month, Lavender Magazine, the Twin Cities LGBT bi-monthly periodical, started a contest where one lucky couple could win a “dream wedding.” Entrants answered a number of questions (How did you meet? How do you define marriage? etc.) and then the editors at Lavender selected three couples to be the finalists.  Last week, MyGuy^TM and I found out that we made it into the top three!

The prizes sound pretty awesome: gift certificates for a jeweler, a baker, a photographer and other things needed to have a fantastic ceremony. And as MyGuy^TM and I are paying for the wedding ourselves, every bit will help.  So we’d really, really, really like to win.

At this point, it’s a little like American Idol–the final voting is in the hands of anyone who goes to the Lavender web site and clicks on our names and then submit. Voting starts today and goes through June 19 with the winners announced on July 3 (just a little over a year before our wedding). 

Please go here and vote for us. (Hint: We’re the only male couple you’ll find on the page.)  There does not appear to be any limit to the number of times you can vote so if you want to, you know, set a reminder on your computer to go there once a day and cast a vote, I don’t think there’s a problem with that. Heck, even if you just go and vote once, we’ll still love you forever. And if you could spread the word (post on your blog, shoot an e-mail to kind people likely to cast a vote), we might even bake you cookies!  (Oh, yes. Cookies. Homemade. THAT’S how serious I am about winning.)
